Commissioner and Staff

In October 2012, the Board of Directors of the WSIB appointed Tom Irvine as the new Commissioner of the Fair Practices Commission. Mr. Irvine previously served as the Acting Commissioner following the retirement of Laura Bradbury in June 2012.

Mr. Irvine has been with the Commission for a number of years, serving in a variety of senior roles, including Deputy Commissioner. He carries an in-depth understanding of the WSIB and the stakeholders it serves.

Prior to joining the Fair Practices Commission, Mr. Irvine was a manager of the ombudsman program at Ontario Power Generation and was a team leader and investigator with Ombudsman Ontario.

Mr. Irvine has a Masters degree from the University of Waterloo and has completed additional training at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and the Banff School of Management.
