What we do

We can:

• receive, investigate and make recommendations about current complaints of alleged WSIB unfair practices
• identify system-wide trends, policy matters, and systemic issues and recommend system-wide improvements to WSIB services
• issue reports on our activities.

We cannot:

• make, change or overturn decisions of the WSIB
• make, change or set aside a law or policy
• advise on an issue under appeal or involving a right of appeal
• address Human Resources issues for WSIB staff, including issues under the Collective Agreement
• investigate complaints about other organizations including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT), the Office of the Worker Advisor (OWA) and the Office of the Employer Advisor (OEA).
